Approximately 160 years ago in Japan, it was believed that diseases can be cured and marriages can be happy by seeing rare animals; it was with this catch phrase, camels and elephants became main features of animal shows. Soon after, the shows transformed into zoos. Here, we reflect back on how the relationship of animals and people have changed over the generations.
